The Blue Germ

Overview

Richard Harding, a London doctor obsessed with his patients' health, invents a microscopic cure capable of eradicating every pathogen known to man: the blue germ. Desperate to save the public, he unleashes his miracle into England's water supply, infecting the population with terrifying speed. But as the infection spreads, so does horror at the stark blue eyes and nails that signal its arrival. When Harding himself contracts the disease, he realizes the true nightmare of eternal life--the death of love, ambition, and basic human desire. As total apathy paralyzes the nation society begins to crumble from within. Can Harding find a way to destroy his own miracle, or has he doomed humanity to an eternity without a soul?
